Ship Shape Marineworks, LLC originated as Ship Shape Boat and Auto Detailing in 1992. Richard Niquette was the sole proprietor of this part-time mobile Boat Detailing business, operating from home and at various marinas around Lake Winnepausaukee. This setup continued until the demand for his services and dissatisfaction with his full-time employment caused him to build the business to full-time status in 2001.
In 2002, Rick and his partner, Anne, began taking Marine Canvas and Upholstery courses, and in September of 2002 formed Ship Shaped Canvas and Upholstery. After their marriage in 2003, the companies merged, forming Ship Shape Marineworks, LLC. The initial 524 sq. foot canvas shop was leased through Winnesquam Marine in Belmont, NH for 3 years, and expansion needs caused the relocation of the business in August of 2005 to the former AnnaLee Doll factory in Meredith, NH. This location offered 2050 sq. ft of space and the ability to service boats indoors during inclement weather. In February of 2007, Ship Shape Marineworks, LLC moved their operations again after purchasing the 3600 square foot commercial building located at 26 Waterford Place, in Gilford, NH where business and services have continued to grow.
